[Zoom Meeting] OCPD & Work Identity 💼

Hi all, it’s Cale again!

I’m back from my travels across middle America and find myself more than a little overwhelmed as I try to reintegrate back into some semblance of a routine.

This topic suggestion is incredibly relevant for me as I pivot away from self-employment toward full time employment with whatever generic company is luck enough to have me! Just kidding, this is all a facade. My imposter syndrome is in high gear as I face all the many insecurities competing to convince me I can’t handle an “adult” job. I find myself contemplating how my identity will change in relationship to my change in employment.

For better or worse:

• How will the culture of this future/unknown company influence my identity?
• How will new coworkers change me?
• Conversely, how will my existing identity impact the way in which I work and connect with others?
• Will I be able to navigate this foreign environment and settling into a routine that is mutually beneficial?
• And will I be patient and compassionate with myself throughout the process?
